Carpet cleaning can be just the thing for someone renovating a home on a budget.
Why? Well you may find that you don’t need new carpets after all, and your current ones are fine after a good scrub.
If you are looking to renovate your home or about to move into a new one, the state of your flooring will have a significant impact on how successful redecorating will look. Tatty, dirty carpets can make even the most pricey renovations look like they never even happened.
However, flooring is incredibly expensive. A standard bathroom could cost over £1,000 and a master bedroom over £1,500. With this in mind it is always worth getting your carpets cleaned to see just how much better they look when properly looked after. You may just get a few more years wear out of them.
Carpets generally have a 5-15 year life span and you will however need to replace carpets if any of the following are true:
Stains
If after cleaning stains are still very visible and can’t just be covered with a rug, then you need to consider getting rid of the carpet. You did try!
Mould
Damp conditions can cause mould and this creates a stain that is very hard to remove. It may also be hard to remove the mould which can spread to the rest of the carpet and other furniture, so it is best to get rid of it.
Matting
Once carpet has worn down to the plastic matting underneath, there is very little you can do.
